Ottawa gamers

Last night, about twenty bot accounts added themselves to the site and posted lots of ads for porn and sex aids. I removed them, but the bot-checker tool clearly needs to be updated.

It's been doing that, or something like that, for the last week. In the evenings, no one can log on. It might be more than an isolated incident.

Try clearing the cache and cookies. There was an issue a while back where people kept having to log on after a board change. That was the solution.

I've had issues in the past where I log in, and it returns me back to the login screen. I worked with Winston for about a week or so, trying to fix it, with no success. It's not bad, but I don't like displays that don't use the whole screen. It just feels squashed, and all that space on the side is just wasted.

I'm certain there's a means to ban the user, but if it's a spam-bot, it may just create a slightly different name and keep going. The trick is to stop them at the front door. We'll see if I was able to do that by blocking the email address.

I can log in with my home computer, but any other computer out there, and while it shows I've logged in, it still only takes me to the login screen.
